Crawley Microwave Round Table Program

Sunday 9th September 2018

Welcome to the Crawley Roundtable hosted once again at the premises of the Crawley Amateur Radio Club.

The morning session will feature the usual ‘bring and buy’ sale, so if you have surplus radio items then please bring them along.

Again this year following we will be holding a heat for the UK Microwave Group annual Project contest. Please do bring along your constructed equipment or project and enter. Entries do not necessarily need to have been finished during the last year. Please note that the contest will also accept software entries as well as hardware.

CARC award the G3GRO trophy to the winner of this round. The winner will also go on to be considered, together with entries from all the other round tables over a year both before and after this event for the G3VVB trophy.

We are also hoping that G3LYP will be attending with the UKuW Group chipbank. If you have a forthcoming project then why not contact Mike beforehand to place your orders, which are free for UKuW group members.

Below is the provisional timetable:

12:00     UKuW Group Project contest round/G3GRO trophy judging commences

Roadworks on the M23

Just a note for attendees to the Crawley uWave round table arriving from the North - the M23 is being upgraded to a smart motorway. Work started in April and should be finished before the 2020 Round table! (yes that is 2020 AD). So narrow lanes and a 50MPH limit between junctions 8 and 10. It actually works fine PROVIDED nobody does something stupid.

I've also discovered there is a Dragon Boat race in Tilgate Park for one of the local charities on the 9th Sept. I assume there is a stretch of suitable water somewhere in the park. Anyone up for a paddle?

We are in Scatterpoint

So it's taken a bit of effort by Denis but we have finally got into the events list in Scatterpoint and on the UK Microwavers site. On the down side... a work collegue has complained that we haven't published the programme yet. Nick - it's in September - give us a chance. We did approach anumber of people for talks at Martlesham, so we have a couple of ideas. However if anyone wants to offer or has a request then let us know.

Round Table Date Now Set

Denis (G0OLX) has received confirmation from CARC for 9th September 2018. Hopefully the UK Microwavers webisite will be updated shortly. That is probably the easy bit.

Format: The same as last year. Chris (G0FDZ) provided us with the template which has been used for many years. Doesn't seem to be any demand to change it. So ....
Morning: Table top sales and nattering. Judging construction competition
 Afternoon: A couple of talks

We want to try and get a varied programme of talks so we are open to suggestions and preferably volunteers. Offers to

More info when we know it.
